Lovely SA 2015
Day 27 at 20 Feb 2015
Villiersdorp at Theewaterskloof Golf Estate (Karin & Winfried)
"We woke up at 6.30h but that was to early for my birthday! ;-) So after a second HAPPY BIRTHAY From Ed we went back to sleep for another hour! ;-)
Karin and Winfried settled so nicely the birthday breakfast table outside in the sun and Ed got even some bubbly! That was so nice. I really enjoyed and the day started just perfect.
We went after breakfast to the Hottentots Holland Nature Reserve to do again a Canopy Tour. This Canopy Tour is in the Cape only since last August, so fairly new.
We had a blast! It was 4,5 hours in total. It include a light meal (Chicken pie with carrot and potato salad and a drink), we got a safety briefing, a 30 min. 4x4 drive into the mountains, 10 min. walk to the first platform. There were 13 platforms and the longest slide was 320 meters (ca. 30 sec.), we got from kloof to kloof, had a little snack in between, walked a suspensions bridge over a double waterfall and walked the 1km step up the mountain to our pick up place for the 4x4 vehicle to bring us back to main camp.
We had a super duper, flipping fantastic day!!! And I have to thank Eddy even more that he did that with me even though he is afraid of heights!
We came back to Theewaterskloof Golf Estate, had a nice shower, got changed and got ready to go Franschhoek for the birthday dinner. We went to Foliage Restaurant were Chris Erasmus, former chef from wine estate La Motte, is cocking now. It was very, very nice. It was fantastic food and taste! Because they are not 100% licensed yet we could bring our own wine. Just see the photos.
The only thing we did not like that it was proportionally noisy.
When we came home at 23.00h it was only 15 degrees. So we decided to have a Gl├╝hwein just before we went tired and very happy to bed.
I do thank my beloved hubby Ed for a most wonderful day of relaxed time, adventure, sport, good food and lots of love!!!"
