Lovely SA 2015
Day 22 at 15 Feb 2015
Port Elizabeth at Admiralty Beach (Seaview Room) → Keurboomstrand at Tamodi lodge (Honeymoon Suite)
"Good morning! It was raining again. I’d like to believe ;-) that PE is sad, that we are leaving and that’s why the sky sends tears.
I woke up quite well rested and did read much news about SA politics. … And how people react to the current situation. Very interesting!
This morning nothing seemed to be quick and easy. We’d like to see other nice places of course! But we, especially me, are also sad that we have to say goodbye to dear friends again.
Ed made us a very nice Cappuccino and we got ready, packed the last things and got the car ready!
Around 10.15h Lenie, Tayla and Enrico popped quickly in to say goodbye and brought us some little gifts. After they have left we went to the other side paid the last things and we left at 11.00h in direction Jeffrey’s Bay.
In Jeffrey’s Bay we stopped for our lunch right at the beachfront at a small nice little restaurant called Kitchen Windows. First we sat outside but it started again to rain and we quickly went inside! ;-) They have very good prices and even more important very nice food! We shared a starter, Ed had a Kingklip again and I Salmon - Hmmmmm lekka - and we shared a dessert. At 14.00h we left now for direction Tsitsikamma again. During our journey we had several – partially very heavy – rainfalls. We arrived here – at Tamodi Lodge – at 15.30h. Tamodi Lodge is situated about 10km before Plettenberg Bay.
We had a very nice welcome with a nice cup of Rooibos tea and got informed about every thing we need to know. We also had a nice little chat with Owen the owner of Tamodi. We have the Honeymoon Suite, a from the main house separated chalet. That’s big. We have the most wonderful view. All around the chalet is glass windows, which are giving us the view to the mountains. We have an inside and outside shower. But there is no big difference. ;-) … Because everybody could see you as God created you. But luckily there is nothing around us.
Ed mad us a nice espresso with a Nespresso machine, we unpacked, tried the TV out and rested a bit before we went to Enrico’s Restaurant which is 5 min. by car down to the beach side.
Even though the weather was not nice we could sit outside but … we decided for inside. It was very full but we were lucky to get a table direct at the window/terrace. The service was excellent and the food very good! We had a focaccia as a starter, Ed had Kingklip with pizzaiola sauce and I had the veal with the same sauce. Both veal and fish were fantastic! The sauce was almost 100% identical Italian – but they added a little cream into the sauce. We went very happy home, got ready for the bed and watched Harry Potter on TV before we fell asleep 23.30h."
